Music Rights Specialist
LMA – Colombo / Delhi


Lanka Music Archive (LMA) is a Record Label, Digital Music Publishing & Distributing company operating a range of content platforms that inform, educate, entertain and inspire people around the world. Dedicated to building global platforms of creation and interaction, LMA now has a portfolio of applications available in over 100 markets like Spotify, Deezer, TikTok, YouTube and more.

This role will work on the Music Content Operations team. The core function of the Team is to support music licensing contracts by building processes and technology to comply with and execute on our agreements with media companies.

This role will report to the Senior Manager of Music Rights, and be based in Colombo and Delhi.

This role will play a key part in supporting development of automatic content recognition and rights management products.

  1. You will be a core conduit between LMA and the music industry, ensuring that record labels can effectively manage their content on TikTok and understand its impact.
  2. You will work cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders (including music licensing teams, legal, product teams, and external record labels) to recognize product needs and provide feedback on what features should be developed next.
  3. You will actively research how record labels use our products and will guide record labels as they navigate our systems and tools.
    3-5 years of experience in digital rights, music operations, account management, or data analysis, preferably at a UGC platform, media company, or technology firm
    Highly organized, detail-oriented and team-oriented
    Demonstrated ability to cohesively collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams and external partners simultaneously
    Demonstrated success working independently and exercising sound judgment
    Ready to create, iterate on, and scale processes and workflows critical to understanding and supporting our music business
    Experience working with spreadsheets, dashboards, and other data tools (Excel and Google Sheets at a minimum; SQL, Tableau, Domo, R, Python, etc. preferred)

Experience in the music industry is a plus, with a preference for having worked directly with record label stakeholders
